Rain needles the black Atlantic. A lighthouse leans into the wind, its beam sweeping over empty water.
Inside the lantern room, MARA VOSS, 40s, steadies a trembling cup beside the radio.

(into radio)
Station Twelve calling harbor. The light is out past the shoals.
Only static answers. Then—a faint, deliberate knock from below.

A row of photographs shivers against the wall. In every one, the sea has been scratched away.
